CCSH runs a fully covered general medical service open 24 hours. The unit is run by a team of well trained and dedicated health care team. In-patient services are also available.
CCSH has both in-house and visiting specialists in every field of medicine. These physicians are licensed and experienced to handle medical matters in their respective fields. Specialist clinics include Gastroenterology , Endocrinology, Nephrology, Chest and Cardiology, Etc.
Certain drugs have been categorised as drugs of abuse. Use of these drugs or use outside prescribed doses have been proven to impair judgement and accuracy while doing sensitive jobs and this may in turn endanger lives and property. To ensure safety in the workplace, companies often require their personnel to be screened for use of drugs of abuse and alcohol. A medical review officer is a doctor who is trained and licensed to oversee and regulate the drug screening process. CCSH has an in-house Medical Review Officer (MRO) to regulate and ensure that the integrity of the alcohol and drug testing process is maintained. Dr Ngozi Madubuike, who is a director in CCSH, is a certified MRO under the American Association of Medical Review Officers searchable in www.aamro.com/center. She oversees the Drug and Alcohol screening programme. She also has a wealth of experience in the drug and alcohol testing process.
Occupational health is the branch of medicine designed to ensure health and safety in the workplace by promoting a healthy workforce. This unit strives to ensure that personnel are adequately equipped health wise to tackle the unique demands of the job in their designated job positions. CCSH runs a standard Occupational Health Unit manned by a team of specialists and technicians.

Cova Care Ltd is in the business of establishing and running work site clinics for companies who desire to have a medical outpost on their work premise. These work site clinics include onshore and offshore site clinics. Such medical facilities could be only for first aid +/- treatment of mild ailments. CCSH provides the framework for establishing and running such site clinics with well developed and tested protocols to ensure seamless service delivery. Equipment, drugs and medicaments for such clinics can be provided by CCSH. Good stock keeping and re-order system will also be maintained by CCSH. CCSH has a pool of doctors and nurses with the requisite qualification and experience to run such medical outposts. These personnel are well trained and proficient in management of most medical emergencies. Routine evaluation of our processes and routine monitoring of the medics deployed to these sites is done by CCSH management. Back-ups and other assistance are made available to these medics when the need arises. CCSH also offers emergency offshore/onshore ambulance services.
This procedure visualises the lower gastrointestinal tract with the aid of a flexible tube with light source, camera and instrument channel as well as air/water channels.
Lower GI endoscopy can be used to study different sections of the colon such as the anorectal section (proctoscopy), rectum/sigmoid colon (rectosigmoidoscopy), the entire colon (colonoscopy) and sometimes the colon plus the end of the ileum (ileo-colonoscopy).
This procedure is necessary in patients with:
• Lower abdominal pain
• Chronic diarrhoea
• Chronic constipation
• Rectal bleeding
UPPER GI ENDOSCOPY (DIAGNOSTIC/THERAPEUTIC)
This procedure is carried out to study the upper gastrointestinal tract.
It is used to look at the oesophagus / Food pipe (Oesophagoscopy),
Stomach (Gastroscopy) and the initial parts of the duodenum (Duodenoscopy).
It is performed with an endoscope which comprises of a flexible instrument with a light source and instrument, air/water channels and a camera.
This procedure is useful in patients with the following conditions:
• Abdominal pain
• Bleeding (or suspected bleeding) from the upper GI tract
• Persistent / recurrent nausea
• Persistent/ recurrent vomiting
• Swallowing difficulties
Upper GI endoscopy can show:
• source of GI bleed
• ulcers
• abnormal growths
• bowel obstruction/ narrowing
